Jungle Book reboot takes audience on amazing journey

Disney is back at it again with another film targeted for the whole family. In The Jungle Book, Disney’s latest animated feature teaches the message about the acceptance of everyone regardless of their  differences. The Jungle Book covers the story of Mowgli the man-cub (Neel Sethi) who is running from Shere Khan (Idris Elba) the Tiger.  This movie delivered a powerful message while taking the audience on an entertaining and amazing ride.

The Jungle Book delivers a great message for little kids and adults alike.  It shows that everyone has a place regardless of how different they may be. The movie uses Mowgli at the center of this idea because he is not technically a member of any animal group with in the jungle.  Shere Khan looks to destroy him  and this brings destruction to the rest of the jungle. Likewise, when Mowgli has his own struggle with acceptance when he brings destruction into the jungle unknowingly.  Overall, this does a great job of portraying the fact that when you hold a grudge or try to persecute someone for the differences, you ultimately destroy everything around you.

This new version of The Jungle Book breaks far away from it’s original root. The realistic new ride amplifies a greater theme, and makes a new film. The character retain their original root but take on more adult like qualities. It has breed suspense, sadness, and laughs rather than a movie full of fun giggling animations.

The outside of this intense and important message the movie is trying to deliver it feeds the audience an amazing story. Ben Kingsley, Scarlett Johansson, Christopher Walken, Bill Murray and countless others helped bring this movie to life. The CGI used is also some of the best CGI to date I think I’ve seen in a theater. It’s impressive to see the lips of the animals move in perfect synchronization with their voice as well as mimicking small pronunciations.

I loved the voice Idris Elba used for Shere Khan,  it is the perfect representation of what a tiger would sound like with a man’s voice. Elba has a low commanding tone that exemplifies the power and danger his character poses.  If the amazing phenomenal voice acting wasn’t enough add into the pot Bill Murray’s insatiable humor as Baloo.

At several points Mowgli ends up in some pretty sticky situations due to Baloo’s mischief. With more than one of these instances taking play high above the jungle canopy.

I love the movie and thought that it deserved an 9 out of 10. Disney has once again delivered a great show and message to an audience using films as its medium. I’m excited to see what else they will deliver in the coming years using this new style of cinematography in the rebirth of classic  tales.  This is definitely a movie to go out and see before it leaves theaters.
