Ant-Man Review
May 16, 2016
Marvel’s latest addition to its superhero comic movie series, Ant-Man, follows the main character, Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd in the Marvel universe. This movie follows Scott, a master thief who has recently escaped prison as he has the responsibility of a great amount of power thrust upon him by Dr. Hank Pym (Played by Michael Douglas), who created the suit that carries the ability to shrink on command. This film is rated PG-13 and classified in the genre science fiction as well as thriller. Ant-Man is the latest installment into the Marvel universe, which indicates that Rudd’s character will continue to appear in the Marvel films as they progress. Ant-man was released in 2015 and made an estimated 519.3 million in sales and received a 80% positive review from Rotten Tomatoes.
All in all, I would say this movie is a must-see given the great acting and wonderful comical relief. I would rate this movie an A- and recommend it to anyone who enjoys movies with a quick paced plot. The only thing I thought that needed improvement was the characters themselves. I, along with many others who have watched this movie, had not read the comic in which they were based off prior to watching the film. This led me to feel as if the characters were a little under-developed in that the film should have gone further in depth of some of their back stories.
