1.Traverse City 

Traverse City is a beautiful city located in the northern part of Michigan, known for its cherry orchards and beautiful beaches. The city has a lot of outdoor activities to offer such as fishing, hiking and skiing. It is also home to the National Cherry Festival, which is celebrated every year in July. Milford High School sophomore Lilly Sharrak said that “My favorite vacation spot in Michigan is Traverse City because my family has gone there every year, and it is such a peaceful place to be”.

2. Lake Huron

Lake Huron is one of the five Great Lakes of North America it is located on the Eastern side of Michigan and is the second largest of the Great Lakes, known for its crystal clear waters and beautiful scenery. It is a popular destination for boating, fishing and swimming. The lake is also home to many lighthouses which are popular tourist attractions. 

3.Lexington 

Lexington is a small village located in the eastern part of Michigan and it is a popular destination for tourists due to its beautiful beaches in Charming downtown area The village has many small shops and restaurants and it is home to a marina that provides access to Lake Huron if you ever had a chance to visit it is recommended to visit the Lexington Brewing Company, which is a popular spot to eat. . Junior Leea V talks about her love for this city by saying, “My grandparents used to take me to a cottage on the water in Lexington, I would wake up early to sit along the shoreline with my grandma and we would find sea glass. It is my favorite place because of how private and pretty the area is”.

 

4.Cold water 

Cold water is a small city located in the southern part of Michigan in Branch County; it is known for its beautiful Historic downtown area, which features many small shops and restaurants; the city is also home to the Tibbetts Opera House which is a historic theater that hosts many events throughout the year additionally cold water has many parks and recreational areas including the cold water Lake State Park, which is a popular destination for camping fishing and hiking.

 

5.Mackinaw City

Mackinaw City is a small town located at the northern tip of Michigan’s lower Peninsula. The town is known for its beautiful views of the Mackinac Bridge, which connects the Upper and Lower Peninsulas in Michigan; it is also a popular tourist destination with many shops, restaurants and attractions; one of the most popular locations is the old Mac and all Point Lighthouse, which is a historic Lighthouse that often attracts visitors and offers tours. is the Mackinaw City Marina, which provides access to Lake Huron and is a popular spot for fishing and boating. 

 

6.Harbor Springs 

Harbor Springs is a small town located in the northern part of Michigan on the shore of Little Traverse Bay; the town is known for its beautiful beaches and historic agriculture. One of the most popular attractions is the area in the tunnel of trees, which is a scenic drive that offers beautiful views of the surrounding forests in Lake Michigan.

 

7.Mackinac island 

Mackinac Island is a small Island located in Lake Huron just off the coast of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula the island is known for its beautiful Victorian architecture it’s lack of motorized vehicles and its many fudge shops visitors to the island can explore by foot bicycle or horse-drawn carriage one of the most popular attractions on the island is Fort Mackinac which is a historic for the offers tours to visitors another popular attraction is a grand hotel which is a historical tell that has been in operation since 1887 the island is also known for its many outdoor activities including hiking biking and kayaking. Sophomore at Milford High School Keegan Arnold goes to Mackinaw every year and said “It’s a family tradition to go every year, we go to the island and love to bike around”.

 

8.Tawas bay

Tawas City is a small town located on the eastern shore of Michigan’s lower Peninsula on the shore of Lake Huron the town is known for its beautiful beaches including Taos Point State Park which offers camping hiking and swimming another popular attraction is the lighthouse in Taos point which is a historic Lighthouse that offers tours to visitors.

 

9.Petoskey 

Petoskey is a small town located on the shore of Lake Michigan in the northern part of Michigan’s lower Peninsula the town is known for its beautiful beaches including Petoskey State Park which offers camping hiking and swimming Petoskey is also known for its beautiful downtown area which is filled with unique shops restaurants and galleries one of the most popular attractions in the downtown area is the Petoskey stone which is fossilized coral that they found only in the area around Petoskey the stone is often used in jewelry and other decorative items.

 

10.Silver lake 

Silver Lake is a small town located on the western coast of Michigan on the shore of Lake Michigan the town is known for its beautiful sand dunes which are popular destination for offered vehicle enthusiasts and addition to offered vehicle  activities there are also many outdoor activities to join the area including hiking fishing and swimming Silver Lake is also home to the little Sable Point Lighthouse which is a historic Lighthouse that offers tours to visitors the lighthouse is located on the shore of Lake Michigan and offered stunning views of the lake and surrounding areas.
