The first ever FNAF game was released Aug. 8, 2014. It was then followed by 12 other games, where players take on the role of a security guard who is trying to get through each night while being stalked and hunted by the animatronics. The movie is a separate canon to the games, however, it follows along with the same rules.
“Five Nights at Freddy’s” came out on Oct. 27. Due to bloodshed, violence, and disturbing language, the movie is rated PG-13. Critics were not big fans of the movie with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 29 percent. However, most fans generally liked the film as it scored 88 percent from the audience. MHS students agreed more with the audience than the critics. Seniors Emmet Hill (96%), Josie Bowler (92%), Chloe O’Connor (90%), and freshman Marc Wroblewski (92%) all gave the film positive reviews.The movie had moments that caused much anticipation from viewers. This is due to all the jump scares, the strong use of suspense , and all the intense soundtrack, which adds excitement to the film.
The movie follows the story of Mike, a brother who has custody of his younger sister. However, due to complications, he is fighting over this custody with his aunt. He needs a steady job to be able to keep custody of her, so he becomes a security guard at Fazbear’s Pizzeria. He has consistent dreams of his younger brother, who was kidnapped when he was a child in front of him. In these dreams, he talks to five mysterious children. These are the ghosts who inhabit the animatronics at Fazbear’s Pizzeria. His little sister is friends with the ghosts, and she ends up going to work with him. A cop that watches over the pizzeria joins them that night. Through this night they learn many secrets leading up to some big plot reveals.
