Milford’s fall musical is fastly approaching with opening night being Friday, Nov. 17. Milford’s Theater Company (MTC) is a very hard working and developed program. Many people don’t see all the hours that the cast and crew put in to make it an amazing show.
For those who don’t know, this fall, MTC is doing the musical “9-to-5” based on the movie starring Dolly Parton. This show follows three women, Violet, Doralee, and Judy, and the harassment they receive from their chauvinistic boss, Mr. Hart.
They become fed up with his treatment of the women in the office, and kidnap him. Luckily, almost no one in the office liked the boss, so his absence wasn’t noticed. The only person to notice his disappearance was his loyal assistant, Roz Keith, who is madly in love with the person everyone else hates.
The show shows many different challenges, whether it be Judy’s husband leaving her for his secretary, Violet getting passed up for a promotion time and time again, or Doralee struggling to make friends in the office, because people think she is having an affair with the boss due to her bubbly personality.
These three girls don’t start out as friends, but they realize they need each other to take down Mr. Hart. There will be three shows over the weekend, a 7pm show on Friday, and 1pm and 7pm shows on Saturday, Nov. 18.
Tickets are cheaper online, but they can still be bought at the door. To buy tickets, go to https://milfordtheatreco.ludus.com/index.php. The cast would love the support from their teachers and classmates, after their months of hard work.
