Hey guys what’s up? I asked my buddy Doug to read this to you since I am having a hard time getting back to do it. If he messes it up please forgive him – he is Canadian. Listen, I want you guys to teach others about the Be Happy movement. I was only one person and imagine the power of a dozen, a hundred or a thousand students spreading the message. Teach others about mind monsters and how we can beat these mind monsters back, lock them up and never let them control us again.
I always wondered why if being happy felt so great and feeling angry and miserable felt so bad how come so many of us choose to not be happy. Remember, feeling happy is a choice and you can feed that choice – strengthen it by making others happy. Your greatest gift to me was watching you transform to happier students. Last year, I was walking down the hall during class change and I watched a freshman drop his books and papers all over the place. I watched as dozens of kids just walked past, or even stepped on this student’s papers. Nobody seemed to care. Then I watched one senior stop and bend over and help the student with his stuff. This was followed by another and then another. I had tears in my eyes as I watched five or six kids help this freshman. I realized that four of those students were students in my classes. This random act of kindness gave me hope. I was so happy it made a huge impact on me. This was when I decided to start working on a Be Happy presentation.
I know you are very sad about me dying. But I will never really be gone as long as you continue with the Be Happy movement. I imagine Milford being designated a Be Happy school, a school where everybody walks the halls with a smile on their face and a kind word for strangers and friends. A place where teachers, staff and students love school, love each other and everyone tries his or her hardest. If this were to happen, then every student would graduate, get great grades and each student would go out into the world to make it a happy world.
Thank you so much for being the greatest students in the world. You guys are just so awesome. I was so lucky to have such a great job and you made me love my job. For all the kind notes emails and world I received I thank you so much. As I sit here in the hospital realizing that I am not going to make it, I think of you and the kindness you showed me. I am your greatest fan and I love you so much.
Remember Be Happy, be so incredibly happy and help to make everyone around you happy.
Thank you for making my life even better.
Peace, Cremeans
