Milo (Kit Harington) is the starring actor in Pompeii. As a child he escaped from a massacre of his village but is captured being forced into slavery. As he grows up he is turned into an invincible gladiator ending up in Pompeii
Kit Harington has been known for Silent Hill: Revelation 3D (2012) and Game of Thrones (2011).
Milo meets Cassia (Emily Browning) the daughter of a very important family in Pompeii, by killing her horse. As they keep seeing each other unintentionally they began to fall into a sappy love story risking their lives for each other.
Emily Browning is known for the movie Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004).
In order for Milo to survive he must be the only one left in the arena by killing his fellow cellmates. This is entertainment and is considered a “sport” back in the city of Pompeii.
This movie contains an extreme overload of fighting and violence.
To stand up for his life Milo embarrasses the king of Rome by shredding their flag in the arena, now the king will do anything to kill Milo.
As significant as that might seem its only small problem in Milo’s life. Mount Vesuvius erupts and takes over the city with flying rocks, tidal waves and fast moving lava.
Milo’s soul mission is to help Cassia escape the death-eating volcano while fighting for his life. Literally, there is no relief from the fighting; you almost want the volcano to get them so it can be over.
The repetitive stabbings and killings give you a headache from déjà vue.
The scenes of the city of Pompeii are laughably fake. And the movie is tied all together with flat actors.
Paul W.S. Anderson, the producer, failed to meet the expectations. $10.3 million went into producing this disastrous movie.
Paul W.S. Anderson is known for producing AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004), Death Race (2008), and Resident Evil (2002).
According to rotten tomatoes, a movie rating site, this movie received 27 % rotten tomatoes.
