Milford High School hosts special olympics
February 10, 2016
On Jan. 30th, Milford held the Special Olympics for basketball. The school was not only involved with providing a location for this event, but also had many of the students volunteer their time to lend a hand. This event had more than 50 teams from around the state come to experience this opportunity.
“I thought it was an amazing experience to see everyone having a good time,” said sophomore Brooke Ryan. “I would definitely love to do something like this again”.
Many students were involved in helping this event run smoothly. This event featured many students from Milford coming down to participate in the fun.
“It was cool to see everyone let loose and have a good time,” said Carly Apple, a Milford Junior, “I have done this event several times now and it’s always so fun to see everyone let loose and come together to do something like this”.
Students from the MHS Leadership class, the Student Council, and miscellaneous classes all volunteered their time in effort to make this event as great and successful as it could be. Special Olympics is undoubtedly one of the best and most unifying events Milford has held and hope to continue in the future.
