How to take on Valentine’s day

Valentine’s day for some people is a drag, but others love it more than Christmas! For some people, it is a great time of joy to spend with someone they love, but others enjoy it alone.

“I love Valentine’s day,” said Student Sarra Pryjomski. “I think it honestly is my favorite holiday. I have never had a boyfriend during this holiday, but I still love it. I usually eat ice cream and watch love movies, and it is so fun!”

Some people enjoy it alone, and that is totally fine! It has started to become more “acceptable” by society to be alone on Valentine’s day and actually embrace it.

“Valentine’s day is fun because my boyfriend and I have been together for 11 months now, so he surprises me on Valentine’s day,” student Apryl McDiarmid said. She also continued to say, “Valentine’s day is a great time to go on first dates with someone. I remember my first date was near Valentine’s day and it was pretty crazy. I met my now boyfriend at the movie theater and I actually brought my best friend along and, he didn’t even know. She sat at the top and I sat near the bottom with him; it was really weird.”

“I really like Valentine’s day because it reminds me how much I love my boyfriend,” student Sarah Chiappelli said. “My best first date advice is do not go hiking for a date in November because it is freezing and you will be like dead while you are doing it. Also, try and stay relaxed, you will be fine.”

This holiday season is just simply a time to celebrate love!

High School is the time where most students go on dates more than when they are older, so take this advice to heart! Many people stress over the first date, and how to talk to the person, but really it isn’t that hard. Just be yourself, and always remember to breathe!

“I met my girlfriend through Instagram dms,” another MHS student Hunter Long said, ” so honestly just go with the flow of things.”

Just remember, keep your head up, don’t  take things too seriously and just go with the flow, and you will be alright! Happy Valentine’s day!
