As T-shirts and shorts turn to sweaters and pants, fall is now upon us. With the crisper weather, many students look forward to fall drinks and festivities. People enjoy fall in Milford in many ways, such as going to football games, apple orchards, pumpkin patches, and local coffee shops.
The Milford High School football games are prevalent in the fall and enjoyable for their spirit wear. There are many ways to enjoy yourself and showcase your school spirit. “I love the atmosphere and showing school spirit,” senior Kaitlyn Williamson said.
There are also many good apple orchards and pumpkin patches such as Long’s Family Orchard off of Commerce Rd in Commerce Township, Warner’s Orchard located off Spencer Road in Milford, and Diehl’s Orchard & Cider Mill located off of Ranch Rd in Holly. “I love getting apple cider from Long’s Apple Orchard,” said senior Alana Banier.
All of them feature cider and donuts, along with other activities such as hayrides and apple picking. Many people transition to fall by going and buying pumpkins as decor for their house. Earl’s Farm & Produce on Milford Rd is an amazing place to buy pumpkins. They have a large variety of pumpkins to choose from.
Another nearby cider mill located off of Clyde Road in Fenton, Spicer’s, offers a great pumpkin selection to look through.
“Fall is simply the best, the colors are immaculate, and the temperature is just right,” Milford High School senior Jonah Sanchez said.
The colors of fall are a great thing to experience. One nice place to go check out all the cool fall colors is Highland Recreation Center off of Highland Road in White Lake.
Nothing goes better with the colors than a nice fall drink. There are many great coffee shops around town as well that could provide you with wonderful fall drinks.
An ideal place to go to would be Proving Grounds Coffee Shop in downtown Milford. They have a nice cozy atmosphere that will get you in the fall mood while offering a menu with many amazing options to choose from such as the Cider Mill Latte, Butterbeer Latte, and Witches Brew. Most people would rave about their coffee and tea.
Another good place in town is Starbucks. They recently came out with their fall menu many students love. “I love getting an iced pumpkin cream chai; it tastes like fall,” said sophomore Jillian Broyles. The iced pumpkin cream chai has been a hit over the years on Starbuck’s fall menu.
All of these things are a really exciting part of the year. The leaves are beginning to turn golden and orange, the air is getting more crisp, and many can sit down and enjoy a warm drink. Fall season is officially here.
