Best and Worst Super Bowl Ads 2016

Advertisements use human emotions in order to sell their products, and these advertisements from Super Bowl will definitely make you feel something. Whether the advertisements made you laugh, think or cry in terror… here are the best and worst Super Bowl advertisements of 2016!

First Date

Kevin Hart can come across as an intimidating actor and comedian. Starring in Get Hard and Ride Along, Hart does not fail to show us his humorous side. Yet in this Hyundai ad Hart shows us his softer side as well as comedic, as he uses the product of a car tracker to follow his daughter and her date. Hart doesn’t fail to scare the boy off either, because with this tracker he really is everywhere. This ad proves the best way to get America’s attention is through relatable comedy.

Puppy Monkey Baby

With Mountain Dew Quickstart, never sleep again. Not because of the large amounts of sugar and caffeine in their drinks, but to avoid the face of this year’s most talked about advertisment. This ad features a creature that is part monkey, puppy and baby. The creature then comes into a room with three men on a couch then begins dancing and licking their faces while chanting ¨Puppy Monkey Baby.¨ This ad is truly awful and it makes you question the sanity of its makers as well as the people who find this ad entertaining. This ad just proves, Mountain Dew really needs to sell their product hence why they are trying so hard.

Weiner Stampede

Who ever came up with the idea to dress up weiner dogs as hot dogs and have them run into people dressed as sauces should be terminated immediately. Thats right, the famous ketchup and sauce brand Heinz also made an ad for the Super Bowl.  Yet this does not make me hungry for a hot dog with Heinz ketchup, but  hungry for answers from whoever thought this was a good idea. It is known that comedy, dogs and food sells but in this case it is just plain terrifying.

Super Bowl Babies

After seeing ads about a Puppy Monkey Baby, I really needed this adorable advertisement that showcases those who were born 9 months after the Superbowl after their team won. The diversity of people was truly breathtaking and no matter what the age of the Superbowl babies you were certainly to be in awe. Although this ad was not specifically selling a product, It did however make more individuals sit and watch the Superbowl. This making it an ad for the super bowl about the super bowl starring kids born after the super bowl, no this is not inception but the works behind a very intelligent advertising team.

Pokemon

It has been 20 years since pokemon yellow has been released and Nintendo commemorates this chain with an ad featuring many kids across the globe being inspired to do something amazing. The diverse group of kids in the ad are shown doing very difficult things such as mountain climbing and chess and also challenging a fire breathing pokemon to the battle. This ad is not only inspiring but makes me very excited for their upcoming games, this ad shows no matter what life hands you, anything can be handled.

I was expecting better ads especially for such a big event, but when it comes to the game ads they can always be unpredictable.  In conclusion, there will always be memorable ads for positive and negative things. Yet one thing applys to all of these Super Bowl ads, they sure are entertaining for a quick distraction from the game.
