It’s time again for the MHS Boys Golf team to start practicing. The head coach of the boys golf team is Jim Sander, a math teacher at MHS. Around 31 signed up for the golf team this season. Out of the 31 boys that signed up, only 18 are allowed to play on the team.
Brandon Gollan, a sophomore at MHS, joined the boys golf team for the experience and the joy that golf brings him.

“I love golf because it’s a quiet sport and you can enjoy the outdoors,” he said.

Gollan hopes to have a great season and his goal for the season is to shoot under a 47. More importantly, his goal is to make new friends and to get better at the sport.
Dan Onofrio, a sophomore at MHS, joined the golf team because he enjoys playing golf and being with his friends.

“Golf takes physical and mental skill, it creates a challenge, which is why I enjoy it,”said Onofrio. His goal is to make the varsity golf team next year. His long term goal is to improve over time and to be able to play Golf for the rest of his life.

The team finished fourth last year and hopes to improve this time around when it begins action on April 20th.
