Top things Logan McLaughlin can’t live without
June 3, 2022
One of the common trends on YouTube is for athletes to talk about what they “could not live without.” At MHS, we have our own version of this trend with Hillsdale baseball commit Logan McLaughlin. Welcome to the top things Logan McLaughlin cannot live without.
For McLaughlin, baseball is a huge part of his life. That is definitely something he can’t live without. His glove, bat and cleats. Baseball has been and continues to be a huge part of his life.
Another essential for him on the field is his sunglasses. He will wear his sunglasses playing defense, hitting, even when he’s inside.
A huge part of baseball, as well as McLaughlin’s life, is being in the gym. Being in the gym helps him relax and helps him zone out and work on his craft that translates to the diamond. “Being in the weight room is essential for me,” McLaughlin said. “The weight room helps me focus in every aspect of my life and feels like, at the end of the day, I made myself better in some way.”
Besides baseball, McLaughlin has some things that are very important to him as well. “As cliché as it sounds, I need my phone,” McLaughlin said. “And probably a portable charger just in case too.” His phone serves as a way to contact friends, contact coaches, watch YouTube, and even listen to music.
“Music is a huge part of my life,” McLaughlin said. “I use it to pump me up. For me, rap pumps me up. Lil Baby is my favorite and it’s not even close. Some types of rap can relax me, but rap really pumps me up.”
Obviously, friends and family are crucial to anyone’s life. This thing isn’t unusual, but he needs his mom’s cooking. “Oh wow, how could I forget about Jamie’s cooking,” McLaughlin said. “Her meals are unmatched. My personal favorite from her is breakfast. Her hash browns are top tier. Straight up amazing. Having a homemade meal is unbeatable.”
Now that we have covered the things that he can’t live without. He has a couple things he can live without. “Definitely like radio/TV,” McLaughlin said. “I listen to a lot of music and I am on my phone a lot, so I feel like I could live without it.”
Even though that was a controversial one, he has one that many people agree with. “I could live without cold weather,” McLaughlin said. “Warm weather is so nice. Playing baseball and being able to go outside, it’s all great. Cold weather is something I could definitely live without.”
He also went on to talk about his future. “I think my future will be successful. As far as my future job, if the job presents itself out of state, then I’ll be moving. As of right now though, I’m planning to stay in Michigan.”
One thing is for certain, he will be taking the things he can’t live without over to Hillsdale College as he begins a new chapter of his life.
Unfortunately, McLaughlin is one of the things both Milford and Milford Athletics cannot live without. But as it goes, Milford’s loss will become Hillsdale’s gain.
The community of Milford wishes Logan the best as he starts a new part of his educational and athletic career as a Hillsdale Charger.
