Seth Stern is the head coach for the Milford bowling team. He has been coaching bowling for eight years, and was thrilled that the boys made it to States last year. “The craziest thing to happen during my coaching years was when we came from behind in Regionals and were able to take a win, putting us into States.” He further noted what he wants all of Milford to know,“MHS bowling is a good program and has great kids. We are just spreading the bowling love.”
Bob Shafto also helps coach the team, and has been coaching for 12 years. He started coaching because his sons also bowled, and used to love bowling with his dad growing up. He had also talked about some experiences he had during his bowling career. “The craziest thing to happen to me during my bowling career was when my best friend had a stroke during our league. I noticed the signs and gave him some Aspirin. The medics arrived to help him and told me I saved his life.”
The team’s first tournament ended with girls placing 4th and the boys placing 9th. In the first meet the girls and boys varsity won 28-2
