Where are some of the best places to shop/eat in Milford?
Milford Michigan. A quaint small town. Not a whole lot goes on there, other than the occasional internet video or high school record being broke. Home to more than six thousand people, and home to the “famous” Milford High School, Milford is a great little town. Especially if you are into shopping at small little shops, and eating delicious food.
Downtown Milford is the number one shopping center in the town. The shops are all owned by people that live in the town, and offer a wide variety of goods. From furniture to cooking utensils, to flowers and toys.
Deanna Kelley, one of the frequent visitors to the downtown shops said; “I love the atmosphere of the area. Everything is so quaint and peaceful. And all the shops are so nice and diverse.”
In addition to all of the great shops, Milford also boasts a great number of restaurants and fine eateries.
According to Eadoin Grim, a student at Milford High, the best place to eat in Milford is Bakers on Milfrod Road. “My grandparents took me there for my birthday this year, and I loved it. I had a steak, a baked potato, and for dessert, I had a chocolate lava cake. It was amazing!”
Valerie Russell, also a student at Milford gave us her opinion as well. “My favorite place to eat would have to be Americus. I just love the food there and they have such a big menu, so that I can get something different every time i go there.”
Some of the most popular shops have to be Starbucks, and For Feets Sake. A lot of people love to get Starbucks before school, or after school, or just because it’s delicious. And For Feets Sake is a shoe store that sells the most popular models at a reasonable price.
Some of the most popular places to eat are The Milford House, and The Burger Joint. People say that these are the best because they host a great menu at a perfectly reasonable price, and the people that work there are friendly and excellent.
Paige Huguelet, a freshamn at Miflord High, said that she personally is a fan of Americus. Paige is strictly on a vegan diet, but that doesn’t have to limit her on what and where she wants to eat. “They may nig=t have stuff exactly tailored to my diet, but it is very easy for me to ask them to modify some of their items, and they are always willing to do so.”
Over this past summer, downtown Milford got a new addition to its many places to eat. This one may not have regular food choices, but it certainly got the students attention!
When Easy Freezy, a frozen yogurt store, first opened its doors this summer, the owners didn’t know what to expect. They knew the shops and food places didn’t last very long in Milford, but they were willing to give it a try. And it seems that they will be staying after all.
The students of the middle and high schools absolutely love it there. Hannah Kelley, a student at Mercy High, and a frequent visitor to the store gave us her input. “I just love that its right in town, and they offer such a selection of awesome flavors!”
The store had traditional flavors of ice cream, like chocolate and vanilla, but it also has many others like birthday cake and salted caramel pretzel. And the best part, its a self serve! Meaning you get to have a much as you want.
So if you want a nice sit down meal or you are just in the mood to do a little shopping, Downtown Milford is an excellent place to do so! Give us a visit sometime and let us know what your favorite place is.
