Audiences prepare for new “Mean Girls” movie

The 2004 hit movie “Mean Girls” is receiving a modern revamp, and is set to release in theaters on January 12th. The new movie features the same characters and plot that we know and love, but adds a new musical twist. The movie features the songs from   “Mean Girls: The Musical” which opened on Broadway in 2018. After the musical’s immense success on Broadway, producers took a chance on the slowly fading genre, and decided to produce a musical movie based off of the Broadway success. “Mean Girls” is projected to be the first big box office hit of the year, with audiences already preordering tickets by the masses. While critic revise of the movie seem to be mixed, “Mean Girls” is expected to be a fun, campy twist on the original film, while still paying homage to the Broadway adaptation.
